38A:3-1. Principal department. 38A:3-1. The Department of Military Affairs shall be a principal department in the executive branch of the State Government. Whenever any statute shall refer to military matters in the Department of Defense or the Department of Veterans� Affairs and Defense, the same shall mean and refer to the Department of Military Affairs; except as provided in section 69 of P.L.2025, c.139 (N.J.S.38A:21-7).
